Class Evaluation

1)The things that I really like about this class was the teacher and the students they were all friendly and hardworking. I like the environment that we were working in and that's what made it easier for me not to feel shy.

2)I really don't have pretty much anything in my head of what I didn't like in this class. I just did not like that we could chose our partner to work on our projects with because if you have someone you don't like or you don't really know that person it would feel really uncomfortable.

3)The recommendations that I would give to improve the class is just keep doing the good work. I really enjoy this class a lot and I got to do some fun activities which made this class great.

4)A highlight for me in this class is that i got to talk to people I don't usually talk to and I got to work with them and have fun working on a project. I was shy at first but then it just all came together while working on the work.

5)No, I didn't try my best because I knew I could do better but I was procrastinator on some stuff and I forget at times what we do. I know I could do better and I am going to next semester. I am going to stop procrastinating and do all my work from now on.

6)I am trying to pass the class with at least a B and I will be studying a lot and get ready for the AP test that is coming up next semester.

7)Yes, I am always reading my life planning journal but i never get enough time to input the data that i read it daily but I am going to get the time to do it.

8)Yes, I am committed to be a CTR and an Arete student because im always trying to do good things for the community and I'm always on task. I learned how to value the things in life and how much money is really valuable and what a dollar can do for someone and i cherish life because I am fortunate to have the opportunity to get to go to school.

Innovation

A new bendable lithium-ion battery that can flex and twist could power wearable devices and one day be used to develop a flexible smartphone. The battery already has been tested to withstand twists, bends and other deformations while maintaining its ability to hold a charge. The bendable battery is just 0.02 inches, 0.55 millimeters thick. This innovation can help the people because we are able to get new ideas or creating different experiments and make the technology advance more. I really like this innovation because it help out a lot to create new inventions.

Exploring Performace Task

Exploring Performance Task

I really like the Flash Talk a lot because it made me so much aware of the things we don't know but we should know. There is so much information that is being denied access to, there is information we want to know about. I learned that internet censorship overall is a great concept because it helps the society more and prevents people from getting in a bad position and it doesn't just help out the adults but also the children because it filters out the content that children shouldn't be able to watch.

Internet Innovation

5G will bring more powerful wireless networks that connect things to each other, to people, and to the cloud.  5G network infrastructure technologies to accelerate this transition, collaboration will include proof of concepts and pilot programs for technologies like Mobile Edge Computing, Cloud Radio Access Network, and Network Functions Virtualization. This will impact a lot of people because mostly everyone has a smartphone so the update will be better for most people. This will solve the problem that people hate having slow internet.
I think its a great innovation because the internet will be more reliable and fast so people wont have to struggle that much on the speed of which the page loads.

Ben Carson
As a pioneer in neurosurgery, Carson's achievements include performing the first and only successful separation of Siamese twins joined at the back of the head, pioneering the first successful neurosurgical procedure separation of type-2 vertical craniopagus twins. His excellence was achieved by him practicing a lot and staying positive that he will accomplish that goal. Newer technology would have a good impact because his surgeries would have been much easier at that time.

Technology Innovations

Hexoskin
This innovation is a shirt that can help you health wise, it can measure your cardiac and breathing activity. This will impact daily joggers and people who play sports because it shows you your heart rate and you would be able to control it in case you want your heart rate to slow down. The problems that it will solve is so people could see if they have normal breathing after a work out. I think this is a great innovation because it has a lot of cons and will help the active people more.

Innovations

Automakers have been unwilling to bet on hydrogen fuel cells, but Toyota didnt care and created the first mass-market hydrogen car. The FCV, which launches in Japan early next year and in the U.S. in late 2015, has a 300-mile range. This will impact alot of the people because they can get around cheaper and it wouldnt affect the environment. It will solve problems of paying from paying high gas prices and getting 300 mpg. I think this is a great invention because it will help the environment and will also help the people save money.

Alex Hattori
The excellence achieved was that this young teenager was earning a lot of medals from 4th place to first place in many different championships. His excellence was achieved by commiting to himself and trying his best and practicing alot so that he can become a champion. Technology could have impacted this because back in the day he wouldnt have any recordings of how to do certain tricks and where he sound improve on and now he could just go look at his previous videos on how he did those tricks and could improve them.

Reflection:
I think its a great lesson because when you want to do something that you love, you try your best give it 110% and practice a lot so that you can keep improving and later on your going to see the reults and not only think about the prize money or the trophy, do it because you love to do it. if you want to achieve excellenc you have to set goals and you have to believ in yourself that you can do it.

Blown to Bits: Chapter 2

Blown to Bits: Chapter 2
The story describes about an incident that occurred and happened during rush hours and it led for the police to look at the camera's because at that time the UK had a great amount of camera's in different places which in that case some people thought it was to protect you, and some people thought it took away your privacy with so many camera's everywhere. Camera's are a good source to track down clues or may lead to how the people committed the crime and who did it.

Carl & Margaret Karcher
Carl and Karcher are the founders of Carl's Jr.
This excellence was achieved when Karcher and his wife started their first business, a hot dog stand, on July 17, 1941 in Los Angeles, California when they borrowed $311 to start off their little business which later on in a couple of years started to expand into  them becoming owners of a restraunts. I really liked how they gave confidence to themselves and not giving up on their dreams of soon becoming owners or a great franchise.

 Reflection:
I really loved that even though they borrowed money to start their business together that they never gave up and that they had hope on one day being happy without worrying on working and living a great life in the future. I learned from this that if you reach for the goals that you are aiming towards, you should never give up because you will achieve your goal and even better you would want to achieve more goals that are more challenging and you you will feel very proud of yourself after it.

Marvin Goldstein
Goldstein began musical training at age 9, and by 18 was awarded a music scholarship to Tel Aviv University School of Music. He then began to get his  Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at Florida State University in Tallahassee. His excellence was achieved because of the trainin when he was small and all those practice hours payed off. Technology could have impacted Marvin in which he could have been really famous and the songs would have probably be different.

Reflection:
In this example the excellence achieved was that practice makes perfect and if you keep on pursuing your dream that one day it will come just dont give up on it. The lesson of life that I learned from this is that if you practice everyday growing up older and oler that you would master something that you wouldnt think you would hvae mastered.
